NEWS - April 2024

Fall Schedule Available End of April

  • FALL REGISTRATION STATUS:  Thank you to those who registered early!!!  🙂  High school Heritage Studies classes are now full for 2024-2025.  The new middle school Heritage Studies class has two spots available.  Geometry and ACT/SAT Strategies classes have openings.  Fall tutoring spots are currently full.

I am now developing the fall class schedule based on the student availability information already submitted by registered families.  The registration form is therefore currently not accepting inputs, but registration for classes with openings will restart the end of April once the schedule is set.  Feel free to send me a website message via the Contact page to let me know of your interest in a class before then.

Based on student requests, I am offering an online, compressed summer version of my 1-semester ACT/SAT Strategies class.  The course approach incorporates schedule flexibility to accommodate students' varying summer schedules.  If you are interested, please send me a message via the website Contact page.

: Thank you to those who already sent me website inquiries - I have responded to all of them.  If you did not receive my email response (from info@liftofflearning.net), check your spam folder.  If my response is not there, please submit another message via the Contact page.

How Do Students Go to Class?

  • Classes are taught in a “hybrid” environment of online students using Zoom software, combined simultaneously with in-person students and teacher in a physical Zoom Room. Students identify online/in-person preferences on their registration forms.
  • "Zoom Room” advanced technology, including a large collaborative electronic touch whiteboard and classroom camera views, gives all students a more engaging classroom experience than just the typical Zoom meeting.
  • Courses may have an online only portion as well, but the class is taught from the physical zoom room, so the experience is significantly improved.
  • Both hybrid and online only classes are recorded and promptly available for student viewing.
  • Location of In-Person Classes  (Different from Business Office Location): The in-person Zoom Room is located in the Clear Lake Area of Houston off Bay Area Boulevard near the University of Houston Clear Lake.  FYI - those with dog allergies should avoid in-person classes due to happy golden retrievers!
  • Electronic tools students use include Canvas, Microsoft OneNote, and TI-84 graphing calculators (for high school math). Click on images below or electronic tools link for more info.
  • Students Must Have: a solid internet connection, a fully functioning computer with a camera and microphone, and a TI-84 calculator for math topics. Students may want to use an optional graphics pad/pen.
